The Cold War never looked so hot in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

Director Tomas Alfredson’s masterly new version of John le Carre’s classic thriller TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY can’t be missed.

If you didn’t manage to see TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY on its cinema release, with its arrival on DVD and Blu-ray on 30th January, make a date with director Tomas Alfredson‘s incredible new version of John le Carre’s classic thriller.

Gary Oldman is superspy George Smiley leading an absolutely outstanding ensemble cast in this Cold War tale of moles and double agents. Reading like a roll-call of British acting talent, you have Colin Firth, Toby Jones, Ciaran Hinds, John Hurt, Simon McBurney, Benedict Cumberbatch, David Dencik, and Stephen Graham pacing the hallways of British Intelligence in London. And on the outside, whether they’re on a mission or hiding out, you have Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Kathy Burke, and Svetlana Khodchenkova. Wow.

The jaw-dropping cinematography by Hoyte Van Hoytema and production design by Maria Djurkovic will have you making a bee-line for all those 1970s retro shops. And a pitch-perfect screenplay by Bridget O’Connor and Peter Straughan delivers all the marvellous nuances of le Carre’s twisty-turny novel and will keep you guessing at who you can trust. But it’s director Tomas Alfredson, who made a splash on the international circuit in 2008 with his film Let The Right One In, and who here bring all these elements masterfully together to create one of the films of the year.

So just to whet your appetite, here’s the superb trailer for this superb film…
