It’s all been leading to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

From 1977 to 2019, the journey we’ve taken in that extraordinary galaxy far, far away will finally come to an end in STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER.

Holy… something! So many questions!! But one thing’s for sure, from the incredible 2 minutes and 3-second teaser released last week (which I’ve lost count how many times I’ve watched so far) STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER will be an unmissable finale to this spectacular space saga which began in 1977.

So in December, 42 years after the first (or fourth) film premiered, we will finally know… well, we’ll have to wait and see. Because as usual – and fitting – the plot of Episode IX is a closely guarded secret. And we wouldn’t want it any other way. Certainly, there are some tantalisingly brilliant moments to admire and discuss from director J.J. Abrams‘ movie in the teaser. Rey, winningly played by Daisy Ridley, seems to have developed some athletic new Force skills. Finn, the very appealing John Boyega, has a snazzy new haircut. Poe, played with undeniable charisma by Oscar Isaac, looks more and more like Han Solo in his new outfit. And Kylo Ren, outstandingly played by Adam Driver, has become a lot more ruthless in his fighting skills.

Hold on one minute though. Who is this flying the Millenium Falcon??! It’s another face from the original trilogy – the lovable rogue Lando Calrissian, played by the great Billy Dee Williams.

What all this will mean, and most importantly, what the mysterious title THE RISE OF SKYWALKER refers to will be revealed in eight months’ time. I can hardly wait! And hopefully, in future trailers, there’ll be some mention of the top-drawer, new supporting cast which includes fantastic Abrams’ alumni player Keri Russell and the marvellous (and recently Oscar-nominated) Richard E. Grant.

But for now, let’s watch that teaser one more time…
