Christopher Nolan explores the deepest reaches of space in his new visionary sci-fi drama INTERSTELLAR.
INTERSTELLAR, the visionary new film from writer/director and cinematic genius Christopher Nolan, will have you truly wowed with its latest trailer.
The teaser was elliptical, almost Kubrick-like in its form. Then the first trailer, somewhat more soft and emotional, tugging at the heartstrings. Even though this was Nolan, I wasn’t sure about it. But the latest trailer, oh my goodness, what a stunning piece of marketing in that balances both of the previous elements perfectly and shows us a film that looks epic in its ideas and visionary in its execution. The movie’s tagline certainly encompasses the scope of this sci-fi adventure story:
“Mankind was born on Earth. It was never meant to die here.”
Matthew McConaughey crowns a quite amazing year in both film and television with INTERSTELLAR. There was his Oscar-winning role as Ron Woodroof, the hustler getting vital medicine to AIDS patients in director Jean-Marc Vallee’s emotive Dallas Buyers Club. And then there was his cop Rust Cohle (opposite a similarly fabulous Woody Harrelson) in the lauded short-form TV series True Detective. Playing the lead character Cooper in Nolan’s epic, he’s an everyman who joins a group of astronauts to journey through a wormhole in space to the far reaches of the galaxy in search of a new home for the inhabitants of a rapidly failing Earth.
As is usual with Nolan, an absolutely stellar (pun definitely intended) supporting cast has been assembled including Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Wes Bentley, Topher Grace, John Lithgow, Ellen Burstyn, Matt Damon, Casey Affleck to join Nolan regular Michael Caine.
Take a look at this and go wow…
