Film by Tacita Dean is a homage to the wonder of the medium

The Unilever Series at London’s Tate Modern currently has the most fantastic installation in the main Turbine Hall – FILM by Tacita Dean.

An 11-minute FILM by Tacita Dean – the celebrated Turner Prize-nominated artist – is currently taking over the vast Turbine Hall at London’s Tate Modern. It showcases colour, black and white, negative, editing, movement, still frame, prism and more. I can only recommend you go and marvel at this huge collection of diverse images.

Going to this exhibition/installation in the midst of all the publicity surrounding the new movie The Artist which is all about celebrating the pure art of making a motion picture and opening this week, seems to give this trip an extra frisson.

With Dean’s FILM, you’ll come away hoping, in this digital and 3-D age, we never lose the original entity that got it all started. Go and see this!
