There’s a new man on the run in The Bourne Legacy

Jeremy Renner really does look like killer-casting as the new man on the run in the upcoming thriller and next instalment of the franchise THE BOURNE LEGACY.

The second trailer for the next instalment in the Bourne saga THE BOURNE LEGACY has just been released online. And it really confirms how great I thought it was when it was announced that the terrific and Oscar-nominated Jeremy Renner was to play the new man on the run, Aaron Cross. Tony Gilroy who’s written all of the screenplays for the three Bourne movies to date, steps behind the camera for the new movie and so after a tantalising teaser a while back of how the Jason Bourne franchise would continue without the fabulous Matt Damon, it looks as though we’re in safe hands with Renner.

There’s also the top-flight cast that Gilroy has assembled around Renner. You have the wonderful and also Oscar-nominated Edward Norton, the luminous and Oscar-winning Rachel Weisz as well as a returning Scott Glenn, screen veteran Stacy Keach, and excellent character actors Dennis Boutsikaris, Donna Murphy, Michael Chernus, Corey Stoll and Zeljko Ivanek.

This time there’s another deeply secret covert programme that seems a darker and more deadly version of the trilogy’s Treadstone one and Renner’s Aaron Cross is one of the agents involved. When he looks at the camera in the trailer and says to us

“Let’s go!”

I’m in. Let’s meet the new Bourne…
